Quantum Dot Film

The quantum dot (QD) film is a special optical film consisting of a quantum dot layer, a resin barrier and a barrier against water vapor and oxygen.

Features

The quantum dot (QD) film is a special optical film consisting of a quantum dot layer, a resin barrier and a barrier against water vapor and oxygen.

The film is manufactured using high precision coating and is designed to achieve high color gamut levels of LCD displays and offer vibrant hues by converting about 2/3 blue light emitted from backlight units to red and green light, which are then combined with the residual blue light to create a white light.

Advantages

The quantum dot film has three advantages. First, wide color gamut. The color gamut of an ordinary LED TV is only 72 % NTSC, the first generation wide color gamut TV 82%, and an OLED display 100%. But QD-TVs achieve an unparalleled color gamut coverage of 110% NTSC.
Second, improved color saturation. Q-LEDs have spectral purities that are 50% greater than conventional LEDs as  QDs generate pure, accurate and true to life colors.
Third, high stability. As QDs are inorganic nanoscale particles, the lifetime, durability and photostability of QD films are greatly enhanced.
